Modern RAM mix with aluminum casing (from DDR3 generation). Post-2015 modules have thinner gold layers. Aluminum presence has little impact on analysis.
Hynix DDR2 server RAM modules are older-generation memory types commonly found in decommissioned servers. They offer high levels of gold and other precious metals, with a decent recovery potential in refining processes. 2008
Modern DDR4 RAM contains less gold than older types. While its refining value is low, reuse market prices are high — around €5–6 per unit, or €227–273/kg, making reuse far more profitable than recycling. (2017)
